about

I genuinely love the music that Phoebe Masteller-Defiance makes. I've often told people that listening to her work is much like listening to a female version of mine - it has an eccentric, catchy, crazy, yet endearing charm to it that I often tout as like some of the coolest things I've ever heard! I first met her at a show at the Deva in like late 2013 or so, became friends with her cuz we were both MSTies, and since then have totally supported her in her endeavors when possible.

It's really an honor to get to play shows with her sometimes, honestly, and I love the element she adds to both Dandelion Massacre and Wayne Jetski. Sometimes I play this one live, and it's pretty fun to do. I don't remember how I did it, but I somehow found a way to play this by ear, and once I did I totally asked her if I could cover it... which then prompted the occasional "when's it done?" question over the next few years haha! I turned what was a folk pop punk-sorta sounding song into an acoustic pop song that has snatches of three-part harmony here and there.
