about

Pocket Lint Persuasion was my summer 2010 band. I had tried to get something going as early as January that year, but nothing really took off til like May when we recorded this song and "Friendship" at Modesto Sound. This group eventually played a few shows together over that summer before its members went their own separate ways. It was my first try at having a serious band and trying something with one with my own ideas as opposed to fitting in with someone else's. PLP was a sort of supergroup featuring Micah Van Zandt, Mark Oesau, Randy Franco, Drew Blum, George Mery, and a fat kid; after this show Micah and I went back to solo work, Mark and Randy formed Myosin, Drew focused on Z Strain and George hibernated for a minute before playing again with me in 2012 and then joining Slay and the Nekrobats.

This is a live 2010 recording from the last show we played, opening for Reggie Ginn at the Guru Lounge. Much like "Falling Forever", this song was the only one we ever seriously recorded, and while I do have a copy of it, I never quite liked how its mixing turned out and there's some vocal gaffes in it that I never got to correct. Personally, I love how Micah screams the chorus with me in his inimitable style - that's what makes this one stand out a lot!
