about

The summer of 2009 was an unforgettable one for me, but not for good reasons. I had little to no friends, had nowhere to go, had a driver's license at least, but nothing to do other than to putz around on my computer all day, read Tsukihime from start to finish, get replaced by Colton's ex in the band we were in, deal with a sunburn, and be too alone for my own good. I told myself this can never happen again. It's an emotional but sad piece about loneliness and features very rare recorder work. Bass and strings were done on my keyboard; it would be three years before I'd get my bass guitar.

Will note though - re-editing the stems and correcting the vocal timing revealed neat pockets of harmony kinda buried in the original mix!

lyrics

Every day feels the same
There's no use in being optimistic about it
Every night ends the same
I feel like I'm going insane

Deliver me now
Deliver me now
Deliver me now
Deliver me now
From this place where time stands still
Where even the longest day feels more like a week

Every place I go always seems empty
There's no use in pretending people are there
When everything you do just feels the same
The monotony of it all can just fry your brain

Deliver me now
Deliver me now
Deliver me now
Deliver me now
From this place where time stands still
Where nobody is nobody and existence itself is moot

Deliver me now
Deliver me now
Deliver me now
Deliver me now
From this place where time stands still

Written by Dan Vallerand. Recorded July 2009.

Changes made: corrected-as-best-as-possible timing of recorder, "bass" and vocal stems, attempted declipping of final strings stem which was horribly distorted in original mix, most clicks/pops from original stems corrected, new EQing/effects added
